About Hottinger
Meet The Founder
Dolph Van Laanen
Hottinger Signals was founded by Dolph Van Laanen, whose interest in financial markets and market signals spans decades.
Long before modern technology made market information instantly available, Dolph developed a deep interest in studying market movements, historical patterns, and the behavior of stock indexes. His focus was not simply on whether markets moved higher or lower, but on understanding whether patterns within historical market data could provide useful insight into future market behavior.
Over the years, Dolph continued observing, studying, and refining his approach. His philosophy developed around a principle that remains central to Hottinger Signals today: market decisions should be guided by evidence and discipline rather than emotion or excitement.
That philosophy is now being brought into a modern platform through Hottinger Signals.
The technology available to investors may have changed dramatically over the years, but Dolph believes some fundamental principles remain the same. Markets require respect. Historical information can provide perspective. No analytical method is right all the time. And discipline is essential when evaluating potential opportunities.
Hottinger Signals reflects those principles.
Our Approach
Each week, the Hottinger Signals methodology evaluates historical market behavior using a structured analytical process. The purpose is to determine whether the available historical evidence supports issuing a signal.
The approach is intentionally selective.
Hottinger Signals does not believe that a prediction must be made simply because another week has begun. If the historical evidence does not meet the model’s criteria, no signal may be issued. This disciplined approach is an important part of the methodology.
Our goal is clarity—not constant activity.
Subscribers should understand that signals are not guarantees of future market performance. Financial markets involve risk, and historical patterns cannot predict future results with certainty. Hottinger Signals is designed to provide analytical information that subscribers can consider as part of their own decision-making process.
